Suchitra Kamath is named new ISAAW President

ISAAW has elected Suchitra Kamath as president, succeeding ISAAW's first president, Kiran Gill. As a business owner. ISAAW Advisory Board member, activist, and community leader, Suchitra brings a broad range of expertise to her new role. "Suchitra's vision for ISAAW resonates with many of us who are focused on amplifying South Asian American women's voices," stated Kiran Gill. "I know under her leadership ISAAW will continue to grow and to provide a platform for South Asian American women in NJ and help them become more politically engaged and involved in their towns and cities."

During Kiran's term, ISAAW has highlighted important community and policy issues, including hosting the Immigration and Civil Rights Panel at the Eagleton Institute of Politics, created a vast network of South Asian American women activists and elected officials throughout the state, provided programming for South Asian American women of all ages to get civically engaged, such as the 2018 Midterm Elections Guide, and mobilized South Asian American communities to the polls.
